Oats with a twist.

A yummy complex carb dimension to your breakfast.

1/2 Cup Oats
1 !/2 Cups Water
1 Chopped date
1/8 teaspoon allspice
1 Tablespoon mixed seeds
Pinch of salt

Cook for 2 minutes at full power in microwave. Stir and stand for 1 minute. Cook for a further 2 mins.
Stir and serve.

Breakfast in a Red Wine Glass

This morning I served this for breakfast:

1. In bottom of glass, Stewed apple, banana and clementine. (I had some in fruit basket threatening to … So, I chopped them up, placed in a microwave dish with a lid, added 2 tablespoons water, a teaspoon of mixed spice and microwaved until soft - about 15 minutes. Did this bit last night)
2. On top of the fruit, a layer of oat muesli.
3. On top of that a thick layer of natural yogurt.
4. On top of that a Tablespoon of mixed nuts and two raspberries.

The delight on the faces when I served it made my day. :P

Body Image team is three months in on a nine month journey. Tania Blom is making use of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy ( CBT ) to drive the changes in the teams relationship with food. resulting in the team seeing food as fuel and not as a comfort or friend or confidant anymore.

The Terrific Transformations forum has become the friend confidant, emotional support and the seat of many new friends as we concentrate on healing the body and mind while we teach the body to burn the fat around the organs as well as on other sites in the body.

Terrific Transformations 11/09 intake Workshops

These Biochemical Behavioural Therapy workshops are designed to help clients suffering from low seratonin wich often presnts as:  Depression, Insomnia, Obesity or/and Low Self-esteem to be able to create the environment that their own bodies will nuturally have the appropriate neurons firing at the correct times in order for them to be able to experience life to its fullest without the side effects of artificial chemicals. It is about teaching you to assisting your body to create it’s own serotonin.

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter most frequently related to depression and it also controls many vital human functions such as hunger regulation, thirst, mood, breathing, sleep, confidence, self-esteem, perspective, attitude , empathy to name but a few. This lifestyle change has huge ramifications on all  relationships. Including how clients relate to themselves, to others and  also how they relate to food. This results in physical changes one of which is weight loss in client suffering from excess weight, weight gain for those underweight, and overall general wellbeing.

The last intake for 2009 of these 90 minute Biochemical Behavioural Workshops will be on 16 November at 18.30. The first for 2010 will be 11 January.
